IMMIGRATION & RESIDENCE
Residence permits.
A clearer move to Türkiye.
Residence and citizenship are distinct procedures. Start with the legal basis for your intended stay and the documents that support it.

Choose the correct basis for your stay
Residence categories depend on the purpose of your stay and your circumstances. An investment, property purchase, family connection or business plan should be reviewed before selecting a category. Buying a property or establishing a company does not by itself guarantee a permit.
Investor residence
Coordinate the residence stage connected with a qualifying citizenship investment and the supporting conformity documentation.
Property & family residence
Review the relevant residence category, accommodation, family evidence, insurance and applicable local requirements.
How the legal preparation can help
- Assess the appropriate application or extension category
- Review passport, entry status and existing permit dates
- Prepare the application file and appointment checklist
- Identify translation and document authentication needs
- Respond to document requests within the agreed scope
Before booking travel
Confirm lawful stay, application timing and which steps require attendance. Appointments and administrative processing vary. Your application plan should allow for further documents or authority requests.
Prepare around the purpose of your stay
A residence application should explain why you intend to stay in Türkiye and how the selected category is supported. Begin by reviewing your passport validity, current immigration position and the documents relevant to the category, rather than applying a generic checklist to every applicant.
Common preparation areas
Depending on the application, preparation can involve the application form, passport or travel document, photographs, accommodation evidence and health insurance. A property-based case may require title and property records; a family case may require marriage, birth and other relationship records. The final list is confirmed for the actual category and file.
Coordinate with the citizenship investment where relevant
An investor residence stage forms part of the citizenship-by-investment sequence, but it remains a distinct procedure. The investment documentation, civil-status records and fingerprint appointments need to fit the application plan. Avoid booking travel around a fixed completion promise before the required appointments and records are confirmed.
Our attendance and power-of-attorney guide explains the difference between personal steps and permitted legal representation. The citizenship checklist is intended for the investment citizenship file and does not replace a category-specific residence checklist.
TRAVEL & POWER OF ATTORNEY
At least one visit.
Planned around you.
For the citizenship-by-investment process, plan at least one visit to Türkiye to provide fingerprints and attend the required residence permit and citizenship appointments. The main applicant and accompanying spouse should plan their attendance with the legal team. Children’s attendance and biometric requirements are checked for the individual file.
Other legal and administrative work can generally be coordinated under a properly drafted power of attorney, wherever representation is permitted. A bank, registry or authority may still require you to attend personally. Appointment availability and further requests mean that completing everything in a single trip cannot be guaranteed.
Plan travel & representation ↗PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
Answers before your next step.
Can a lawyer assist with a residence permit application?
A lawyer can assist with assessment, document preparation and permitted representation. The administration can require personal attendance; fingerprints and required personal appointments cannot be delegated.
Does buying property automatically provide residence?
No. The property, applicant and proposed residence category must satisfy the applicable requirements. Citizenship investment eligibility and a property-based residence application are assessed separately.
What should I share before travel is booked?
Share passport validity, current entry or residence status, your purpose of stay, family details and intended travel dates. The team can then identify the preparation and appointment questions to resolve.
