Legal coordination for account applications
G&K Partners’ existing services include account-opening support for foreign individuals and companies. The institution determines whether an account can be opened, the currencies available and whether personal attendance is required.
For individuals
A valid passport, proof of address and Turkish tax identification details are common starting points. Translation, residence information and evidence of funds may also be requested by the bank.
For companies
Prepare incorporation and registration records, details of directors and beneficial owners, authority to act and tax information. Foreign corporate records may require authentication and Turkish translation.
Agree the scope first
An initial review should identify the intended account use, expected transaction profile, jurisdiction of incorporation and ownership structure. Account approval, transfer execution and ongoing access remain bank decisions.
Prepare documents for the type of account holder
Foreign individuals
The firm’s existing banking service starts with a passport, the required Turkish translation and notarisation, proof of address and a Turkish tax identification number. The bank may ask for residence, occupation, source-of-funds or other compliance information.
Companies
Prepare incorporation records, shareholder and director identity details, addresses, tax information and signing authority. For a foreign company, the bank may request authenticated corporate records and powers covering the intended application.
Check the account’s practical features
Confirm available currencies, online access, telephone-number requirements, expected transactions and any attendance requirement with the institution. Features published in an older bank guide should not be assumed to apply to every current account or applicant.
If the account is intended for citizenship investment, review the qualifying bank deposit route as a separate stage. If it supports a new business, coordinate the account documents with the company formation work so the ownership and signing records are consistent.
PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
Answers before your next step.
Can a non-resident ask about opening a Turkish bank account?
Yes. The firm can review the proposed account use and help prepare an application. Each bank decides its own non-resident acceptance, documentation and attendance requirements.
Which documents should a foreign company prepare?
Start with incorporation and ownership records, director and beneficial-owner information, tax details and authority to act. The bank may require authenticated corporate records, Turkish translations and further compliance evidence.
